GroutPro UniStrip will remove: Epoxy, polyurethane, alkyd enamel, water-based acrylic, elastomeric coatings, automotive grade enamels, lacquers and acrylic hybrid finishes.
Coverage /Spread Rate:
2m²/L depending on the type and thickness of the coating to be removed.
DIRECTIONS
Preparation: Cover / protect areas where stripping is not required, including adjoining surfaces. Plants subject to exposure should be covered or washed thoroughly with water before, during and after application.
•Polythene drop sheets are an effective barrier.
•Masking tape – Apply two layers of tape and remove the top layer immediately after application as the stripper may soak through the tape.
Use impervious gloves, eye protection and if the TLV is exceeded or used in a poorly ventilated area, use NIOSH/MSHA approved respiratory protection in accordance with applicable Federal, state and local regulations
DO NOT shake GroutPro UniStrip products. Shaking will cause product to separate. Use a drill mixer, mix product until it is uniform in appearance.
1 – All surfaces must be clean and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dirt, grease, flaking paint and contamination. Ideal active conditions are above 13°C. If working in cooler conditions expect a longer dwell time.
2 – Using a brush or roller, apply a thick, even layer at the recommended rate onto the coating being removed and allow time to activate.
DO NOT rinse between applications
If working on vertical surfaces re-apply GroutPro UniStrip after approximately 5 – 30 minutes to build up the level of stripper and allow to activate.
Repeat this process as required applying extra GroutPro UniStrip to stubborn sections where needed – Allow time for activation.
3 – The time required for penetration varies according to ambient conditions plus the type and thickness of paint to be removed. Allow 20 minutes to 4 hours checking periodically where practical.
4 – Allow surface to dry out and re-coat accordingly
Clean Up:
Protecting our environment is important to everyone:
1 – Begin removal when coating system can be easily scraped off.
2 – Scrape the softened coatings into buckets or onto polythene sheets and remove from work area.
3 – Collect all lifted coating and dispose of in accordance with local government regulations. In accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s TDS apply a suitable, absorbent spill kit to any work areas that require liquid removal and dispose in accordance with local government regulations.
4 – Clean up equipment with clean, fresh water. Once the components are completely stripped, a final rinse with fresh water to remove any residual material.
5 – Wipe down the substrate with a clean rag and allow the substrate to thoroughly dry prior top reparation and re-coating.
Clean up with fresh water or dispose of equipment. Do not pour leftover stripper down drains or in rubbish bins. Unwanted stripper should be kept in a sealed container and then disposed of via specialised waste collection services. Empty containers should be left open in a well ventilated area to dry out. Dispose of empty paint containers in accordance with local authority’s guidelines.
